Roseburn choirs have been meeting this session – p3/4 on Thursday lunchtime and p5-7 after school.
We’ve enjoyed singing a variety of songs and playing musical games which improve coordination.
The highlight this term was an invitation to sing with the St. Mary’s Cathedral choristers on 17th May in the cathedral. A fun time was had by all and an exchange of talent was experienced which was demonstrated in a concluding joint performance to which parents and friends were invited.
The choirs will be providing a snapshot of the year’s work to parents and prospective new members on Wednesday 21st June which you are very welcome to attend. We will perform some of the songs we have enjoyed singing over the past year as time permits. The showcase starts at 3.45pm hoping to finish around 4.30pm. Please consider joining us for this event as an audience always makes a difference when performing.
Studio to Stage
The Roseburn Choir was delighted to be invited to perform at an evening of song and dance at the Queen’s Hall at the ‘Studio to Stage’ event on March 10th. The choir had a ten minute slot and performed three of their favourite songs – The Osprey, Castle on a Cloud, and the Gypsy Rover. It was very exciting to sing on such a big stage in front of so many people, and a wonderful opportunity to watch and listen to the presentations from other schools, which included drama, dance and school orchestras from primary and high schools across Edinburgh.
